Giantess Shrine

Joseph Dougherty's screenplay for the 1993 remake of '50 Foot Woman' was an attempt to update the laughably absurd subject matter of the 50's scifi classic into a contemporary metaphor of the modern woman's struggle for social equality, or even supremacy, over men. Nancy Archer is definitely emblematic of abused or opressed females who finally manage to break out of their emotional confinement, and Harry is an unfaithful, manipulative schmuck, who deserves everything he gets in the end. But it would not be fair to say that he represents all men. Still, there are plenty of men who possess the same set of ethics that Harry has, and it's a pity that more of them can't suffer a similar fate. Of course, I'm referring to the therapy fate, not the 50 foot wife fate.
