A single panel humor illustration from the pages of Life magazine in 1915. The cartoon is a commentary on the influence of French fashion on the world, as indicated by the array of tiny soldier/suitors at "Dame Fashion's" feet. The theme of the May 27, 1915 issue of Life was 'Vive La France'. The artist, Angus MacDonall, also provided the cover illustration for that issue. His work appeared in Scribner's, Harper's and Ladies Home Journal as well as Life magazines. |
